Babul Supriyo bids ‘alvida’ to politics, says will also resign as MP

The singer turned politician bids farewell to politics through social media post on Saturday. He had earlier been hinting on his soon retirement and finally made it public.

“Alvida I am not going to any other party- TMC, Congress,, CPIM, nowhere. I am confirming that nobody has called . I am going nowhere. I am a one-team player! Have always supported one team #MohunBagan- Have been with only one party- BJP West Bengal. That’s it!!

According to the list of 12 ministers who were earlier dropped by the Prime Minister Babul Supriyo was one of them. “ I have stayed far too long… I have helped somebody, have disappointed somebody” he mentioned in his social media post on Saturday. 

He took to his Facebook to write a long post justifying his decision about quitting Politics, where he mentioned, “ I have made some of you happy some sad after a long discussion, am saying am leaving” he mentioned. Babul Supriyo had served as the member of state for the urban development from November 2014 to July 2016.

“ The last few days, I have gone to Amit shah and JP Nadda Ji, I have told them what I feel” he added. In the past he gad also served as the minister of state for environment.

Supriyo grew up in Uttarpara which is a town in Kolkata located on the banks of Hooghly River in West Bengal. Babual’s family including his grandfather, Banikantha NC Baral were highly involved in music which further had an impression on him as well. 

His grandfather was a well known Bengali vocalist and a music composer. Babul had his music career started off at  avery young age when e started gaining recognition while he performed in inter-school and inter- college music competitions. 

He even got an opportunity to perform in for All India Radio and Doordarshan because of his excellent skills
