While some appear to be confident, many shy away from the speaking activity. The video is drawing everyone’s attention because of the simplicity and purity and children. Talking about the video, one can be seen saying that he loves his skin colour while the other said that the most important thing, he likes about himself is being a great listener. Another boy came in front of mirror and said, “One thing I love about myself is I have the ability to do anything."

Talking to the USA media, the teacher revealed that this was the very first time that any activity like this was performed. He said that he got this idea of self- affirmation while creating a lesson on authenticity and just about being yourself. Ivan Marrero said that he thought it is very important for every student to be able to love themselves and be happy with however they are. He added, “Boys are taught to be tough, to stand up for themselves, to just sit back and watch. But with these boys, we want to make sure that we're able to recognize the beauty that we have, whether it's your eyes, your skin colour, your smile, your hair."

Ivan Marrero also said the result of this activity just blew him away. He stated that he will be continuing more activities like this in the future as well. Principal of school, Jaz Grant said, “So, for us, we are trying to get powerful ways to tap into their inner emotions, their inner self at a tender age, so that they don't have to face various battles and insecurities and things that we went through." He in the end said that every school should have a teacher like Ivan.
