Coronavirus updates: India’s COVID-19 tally reaches 92.2 lakh with 44,376 news cases

Global coronavirus cases stand at 5.87 crores and the infection has claimed 13.95 lakh lives.

With 44,376 fresh cases, India’s coronavirus caseload went over 92 lakh. The number of recoveries increased to 86.42 lakh. The number of confirmed covid cases in the country has risen to 92,22,216, while 481 new fatalities pushed the country’s death toll to 1,34,699. 

The active caseload in India climbed to 4,44,746. The active cases remained below five lakh for the 15th consecutive day, accounting for 4.82 per cent of the total cases, as per the health ministry data. 

The number of people who have recovered from the virus rose to 86,42,771, taking the national recovery rate to 93.72 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.46 per cent.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), over 13.48 crore samples were tested for COVID-19 up to November 24, including 11,59,032 on Tuesday.

Global, coronavirus cases stand at 60,077,383. Recoveries reached 41,510,093 and 1,413,713 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, has 12,949,200 cases, and 265,853 have died from the disease there. It is followed by India, which has 9,222,216 cases, Brazil (6,121,449), France (2,153,815), Russia (2,138,828).

 

COVID-19 latest developments:-

# Four more fatalities took Ladakh’s death toll to 105, while the COVID-19 caseload crossed the 8,000-mark after 83 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours. 

# Amid a surge in coronavirus cases and deaths, as many as 2,000 normal and 1,300 ICU beds have been added in Delhi hospitals. 

# On Wednesday Odisha reported 730 fresh Covid-19 cases and 16 deaths. The positive tally in the State increased to 3,16,001, while fatalities due to the virus have reached  1,687. 

#  Delhi registered 6,224 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday and a positivity rate of 10.14 per cent while 109 more fatalities took the death toll to 8,621.

  •  Delhi (109)
  •  West Bengal (49)
  •  Haryana (33)
  •  Uttar Pradesh (33)
  •  Maharashtra (30)

# Coronavirus tally in Jharkhand increased to 1,07,921 on Wednesday after 233 more people tested positive for the infection. Two more patients succumbed to the virus, taking the state's death toll to 955.

# Andaman and Nicobar Islands covid-19 tally increased to 4,667 on Wednesday as 11 more people tested positive for the infection.

# With 35 new cases, Mizoram's Covid-19 tally surged to 3,745 on Wednesday.

# With 49 fresh fatalities, West Bengal’s death toll rose to 8,121, while the state’s caseload mounted to 4,63,463 after 3,545 new cases of infection were reported. As many as 3,646 patients recovered from the disease, taking the total recoveries to 4,30,462. The discharge rate is 92.88 per cent at present. There are 24,880 active cases in the state.

# Covid-19 tally in Gujarat crossed 2-lakh mark and cases increased to 2,00,409 with the addition of 1,510 new cases on Tuesday. With 16 more new fatalities, the state’s death tally reached 3,892.

# On Tuesday Mumbai reported 939 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the city’s toll to 2,77,446, while 19 more fatalities, the death toll rose to 10,706 while recoveries in the city increased to 2,52,903.
