Started various development works in Sarwa block; Checked distribution of grants of lakhs of rupees to Panchayats

Balachaur, January 9: The Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh has been working tirelessly to change the face of the villages in the state. This was stated by the Member Lok Sabha and former Union Minister Mr. Manish Tewari in the presence of Chaudhary Darshan Lal Mangupur, MLA Balachaur, Punjab Large Scale Industrial Development Board, Mr. Pawan Dewan, who initiated development works worth lakhs.

He said that work was being done all the time for the overall development of the villages and to provide all the basic amenities in every village for roads, streets, drains, sewage, water supply, street lights and other development works.

He also handed over checks of grants of Rs. 28.45 lakh besides initiating development works costing Rs. 26 lakh in Karimpur Chahwala, Chandpur Roorkee Kalan and Mazari villages of Sarwa block. On this occasion he inaugurated the works at a cost of Rs. 5.65 lakh for drainage and drainage at village Karimpur Chahwala besides handing over a check of grant of Rs. 9.98 lakh to the Panchayat.

He also laid the foundation stone of a playground at village Chandpur Roorkee Kalan at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh and gave a check of grant of Rs. 9.98 lakh to the Panchayat. He also inaugurated a sewerage project at village Mazari at a cost of Rs. 5.42 lakh and handed over a check of Rs. 8.49 lakh to the Panchayat. He urged that the grants released for development works should be utilized wisely.

 On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Amardeep Singh Bains, S. D. M. Balachaur Deepak Ruhela, B.D. P. O Dharam Pal, Chairman Block Samiti Gaurav Vicky, Chairman Market Committee Balachaur Harjit Jadli, District Youth President Hira Khepar, Rajinder Singh Shindi, Sarpanch Sucha Singh, Sarpanch Binder Singh, Ajit Singh, Nand Lal, Avtar Singh Majri and others were present.
