Environmentalist Greta Thunberg raise voice for #PostponeJEE_NEETinCOVID

Greta further wrote that she stands with the call to postpone the NEET and JEE Main 2020 examinations in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Environmental and climate activist Greta Thunberg has recently raised her voice against the conduction of the NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020 entrance exams, scheduled for September amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

She said it is unfair for students to appear for exams amidst the alarming increase in the number of coronavirus cases. 

Not only this, she emphasized on the fact that Indian students have also been deeply impacted by floods that hit states like Bihar and Assam, which has caused massive destruction for the citizens. 

Greta further wrote that she stands with the call to postpone the NEET and JEE Main 2020 examinations in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many students also replied to her tweet, showing their gratitude and appreciation for her words.

Greta took her Twitter account and wrote, "It’s deeply unfair that students of India are asked to sit national exams during the Covid-19 pandemic and while millions have also been impacted by the extreme floods. I stand with their call to #PostponeJEE_NEETinCOVID"

Meanwhile, students have been actively protesting the conduction of the NEET and JEE Main 2020 entrances, which are scheduled to be conducted in the first and second week of September. Many students also filed a plea in the Supreme Court to get the exams postponed.

However, the Supreme Court did not rule in their favor and stated that the exams will be conducted as per schedule. The court also stated that "Life has to go on despite corona" hence, the conduction of exams is essential for the future of the students
