A shooting spree in Memphis that left four dead and other three others wounded has terrorized the city. The second such incident in 3 days. The Memphis police department has nabbed a 19-year-old youth in the incident after hours of struggle behind the case.

The authorities have told the residents to stay off the street until it is too essential for them.

In a media briefing earlier this morning Mayor Jim Strickland was dismayed over the incident and critically condemned the incident by leveling it as a “senseless murder rampage.”

He was furious over the case which led to the house arrest of the people around the place where the incident broke out, saying this wasn’t the way we are supposed to live. “The people of our city were confronted with the type of violence no one should have to face.”

The Memphis Police Department has identified the person as Ezekiel Kelly who was behind this immoral crime and crossed into the neighboring city of Mississippi.

He was expected to face numerous felony charges and was being transported to the jail to be formally booked.

The authorities launched the hunt for this dreaded killer on Wednesday evening after they were informed through Facebook Live and asked the citizens to remain inside their houses. The police department through a Tweet said, “If you do not need to be out, please stay home!”

The threat over the case also led the Memphis Area Transit Authority to suspend its trolley and bus services. The University of Memphis, already shaken by the recent abduction and killing of a woman jogging near the campus, went on lockdown.

Informing the press more about the incident Chief Cerelyn Davis of the Memphis Police said the criminal started his spree just before 1 AM on Wednesday when he shot a 24-year-old man in his driveway in the 3100 block of Lyndale Avenue.
