Going by the cricket commentators and pandits of cricket, England opted to bat again as the weather of Chennai is predicted to be more humid compared to other days. Therefore enforcing follow-on could have backfired to their bowlers seeing the nature of the pitch. The experts expect that England will look to score quickly and give India the target of 400 to 450. And if the pitch deteriorates it will be tough for Indian batsmen to chase down or even t stand for the whole day on day 5.
