India's former all-rounder Irfan Pathan supported Hollywood pop-star Rihanna's support to the farmers amidst the ongoing farmer's protest. Hollywood pop-star Rihanna on Tuesday on Twitter extended her support to the farmers and asked why no-one is discussing their issue? Following that international celebrities came together and slammed the Modi government.
This forced India's External Affairs Ministry to release an official statement. India's MEA said, "Temptation of sensationalist social media hashtags and comments, especially when resorted to by celebrities and others, is neither accurate nor responsible."
Following this, Indian celebrities from Bollywood and sports came together and joined #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda trends on social media. They also appealed to the Indians to stay united and not pay heed to the external forces.
However, there are still some celebrities who do not think that farmers' protest is India's internal matter.
