In order to sensitize people against the internet frauds, the Commissionerate Police today held cyber awareness camps at Nehru Garden Senior Secondary School and Government Senior Secondary School Bhargav Camp. Cyber experts disseminated the key information among the participants to keep themselves from the cyber crimes.

Divulging the details, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that a special drive has been launched by the department to spread cyber awareness among the masses. He further added that the experts from city police’s cyber cell were assigned to sensitize people to adopt a digital proper behavior which is need of the hour. He state that two special teams held awareness camps at government senior secondary schools, where key information about online transactions were shared with people besides distributing awareness material.

The cyber safety guidelines include to not to sharing ones OTPs/ATM pins with others, changing the ATM passwords from time to time, avoid downloading unnecessary mobile apps, not sharing finger prints and biometric details at unauthorized places, keeping hotspot password protected, not accepting friend requests from unknown persons, not following fake profiles, logging out from the account after using the internet, avoiding public of free Wi-Fi, and many more tips.

Bhullar said that the department would continue its awareness drive to aware people against the cyber crimes so that people remain vigil while facing such instances. He called upon people to adopt digital proper behavior in their routine affairs to diminish the chances of any kind of online frauds. Prominent among others present included ACP cyber crime Satinder Kumar Chadda, SHO Bhagwant Kumar, Principal Nirmla Kumari, Teacher Harjit Kaur, Ashoke Kumar, and others.
