News has been surging from Jalandhar, Punjab where a youth had to lose his life because of the negligence of the city’s Municipal Corporation. Reportedly, the deceased was electrocuted from the pole of a street light and dies on the spot. This incident took place when the victim was crossing the road from Nakodar Chowk to Guru Nanak Mission Chowk. The person has been identified as Vinay Sharma who runs a small Dhaba near a hospital situated on the same road.
Some people witnessed the whole incident and stated that the deceased was crossing the road when he got electrocuted from the pole and started screaming in pain. After hearing the screams, all the people ran to save the person and free him from the poll. While trying to free the deceased, his father also received a shock but was saved.
Sources reveal that the body was taken to the Civil Hospital where the police also reached. After hearing the whole incident, a case has been registered against the Municipal Corporation and the victim’s family demand strict action against same. Post this, people were furious against the careless attitude of the corporation because the power supply was disconnected even after the incident was reported, also not a single officer visited the spot to find out the default in the pole and get it sorted.
The victim was earlier taken to a private hospital where he was not admitted, later the doctors of the Civil Hospital declared him brought dead. The doctors further said that he dies on the spot after suffering the electrocution. The police have assured to carry out the investigation of the whole matter and punish the guilty.
