Netizens troll JioMeet for copying features and interface from Zoom app

JioMeet also offers unlimited free video calls to its users

JioMeet JioMeet-Trolled JioMeet-Copy-of-Zoom

In a digital war against China and in a pursuit to promote Vocal for Local, Reliance Jio has launched JioMeet – a video calling app. Just like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, JioMeet also offers unlimited free video calls to its users. It is now available for download on Google Play Store and Apple's App Store. The app can be used on laptops, PCs as well as smartphones.

However, the launch of JioMeet was badly trolled and people accused the application to be a copy of the Zoom app. Netizens on twitter slammed Reliance for launching a copied app. JioMeet allows HD quality one-on-one and conference free video calls for up to 100 participants.

As of now the company has not announced any call duration cap but has said that users can make free uninterrupted calls for up to 24 hours long.

A user wrote, "So, @reliancejio launched a new video calling app. I really like how Indian brands and apps ate gaining popularity and challenging foreign brands. But, I and most Indians would have been more happier if it was a new app rather than a copy paste."

Another user wrote, "#JioMeet: Hey, can I copy your homework? #Zoom: Sure, just make it look different so it doesn't seem like you copied me. JioMeet:" "#JioMeet is just Second Copy of #Zoom Whole #Jio Company is Copy Paste Version and Moving Forward with the help of Indian Govt... It doesn't last long....JioPay, JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic... Take Anything., It's Copied... Rich Illiterates Ambani's..," added another user.
