Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been attacking Alia Bhatt publicly for a long-time. Just before the release of Gangubai, Kangana called Alia ‘Papa ki Pari’ and a ‘romcom bimbo’. Taking her words back, Kangana called Alia a ‘Big Hero’. She also said that she never expected Movie Mafia will rise and do good.

Taking to Instagram, Kangana shared, “Happy to hear theatres are being revived in South film industry with record breaking collections. I hear some baby steps are being taken in Hindi belt also. With recent female centric film which has a big hero and a super star director. They may be baby steps but they are not insignificant. They will be crucial for theatres which are on ventilators here. Great.”

“Never expected that movie mafia will rise to the occasion and do something good. If they do we will be absolutely appreciative. Hoping for the best,” she added.

Meanwhile, Alia is enjoying the success of her film’s release. The film got a strong opening and collected nearly ₹10 Crores on Day 1 smashing many post pandemic records.

Film critic Taran Adarsh shared on Instagram, “#GangubaiKathiawadi surprises on Day 1… Opens higher than #Raazi [pre-Covid release]… While the *industry/trade* was expecting ₹ 6.25 cr – ₹ 7.25 cr, the strong word of mouth help biz escalate evening show onwards… Fri ₹ 10.50 cr.  #India biz.”
