Mining in Punjab has become a major threat to national security. On Thursday, the hearing took place in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in which the army submitted a report on 5 points. It was stated that mining had harmed the bunkers erected along the international border between India and Pakistan. These bunkers are located along the border near Amritsar. Every day, hundreds of trucks drive over the bunkers, forcing them to crash down.

The army warned that this is weakening the bunkers. It may be challenging to initiate a counterattack in a face-to-face conflict. Additionally, the flow of water during rainstorms can change as a result of mining. This may cause circumstances resembling floods. If this happens, there is a danger of destroying the bunker. The Punjab government was ordered by the High Court to submit a report in this case,  but the government took time again today.

In the past, the High Court banned all mining in Gurdaspur and Pathankot, whether it was legal or illegal. BSF and the Army had also raised concerns about mining here. BSF had said who are the people doing mining here? There is no record of this. Day and night, mining is taking place. Due to the sound of mining, it is difficult to hear the sound of drones coming from Pakistan.
