PM Modi greets people on State Foundation Day, wished continuous path of progress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took to his Twitter handle to greet the people of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Haryana on the formation day of their state and wished the people to “always be happy, healthy and successful.” 

Extending wishes to all the five states, PM Modi praised how culturally unique all the states are. 

Wishing the people of Andhra Pradesh on Twitter, Modi wrote, "Greetings to my sisters and brothers of Andhra Pradesh on the state's Formation Day. The people of AP are known for their skills, determination and tenacity. That is why they are successful in many fields. May the people of AP always be happy, healthy and successful."

The Prime Minister also greeted Madhya Pradesh on the day calling the state to be rich in natural resources and art and culture, and tweeted, "Hearty greetings to the people of Madhya Pradesh on the state's foundation day. I wish that this state, rich in natural resources and art-culture, continues on the path of progress."

For the people of Chhattisgarh, PM Modi said that the state has a unique identity and hoped it would set new benchmarks in progress. "Hearty congratulations to all the people of the state on the foundation day of Chhattisgarh. I wish that this state, which has a unique identity for folklore, folk-dance and art-culture, sets new benchmarks of progress," he said in a tweet.

Further, he extended greetings to the people of Haryana saying they have preserved their traditions and culture and are continuing to create new standards of development. "Many congratulations to the people of Haryana on the state's foundation day. I wish that this state, which preserves tradition and culture, continues to create new standards of development," he tweeted.

Kerala is celebrating its foundation day “Kerala Piravi Day”. PM Modi admired the state for its picturesque surroundings and the industrious nature of its people. PM Modi said, “widely admired for its picturesque surroundings and the industrious nature of its people. May the people of Kerala succeed in their various endeavours." "Kerala Piravi day greetings to the people of Kerala," added Modi.

Marking the occasion of 'Karnataka Rajyotsava', that is the state foundation day, PM Modi said Karnataka has built a special place due to the zeal the people have in them. "The state is at the forefront of outstanding research and enterprise. May Karnataka scale newer heights of success in the times to come," he added.


Karnataka’s name was changed in 1973; it was initially called Mysore. 

On November 1, 1956, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala came into existence as new states were created based on linguistic grounds.
