Today, on October 19, Punjab Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has resigned and the resignation of MLA from Bholath has been accepted.

The notification released by Punjab Vidhan Sabha read, “Consequent upon the resignation of Sardar Sukhpal Singh Khaira, the seat of 26-Bholath Assembly Constituency in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha has fallen vacant with the effect from October 19, 2021”.
MLA has joined the party in June, this year after leaving Aam Adami Party along with two other rebel MLAs Bhadaur MLA Pirmal Singh and Maur MLA Jagdev Singh Kamalu.
