Rajasthan University conducted student body elections on Friday after a hiatus of 2 years for multiple candidates who campaigned in full swing in an attempt to persuade the voters to vote for them. In the Rajasthan Student Poll viral video shared by a News18 journalist, it can be seen two candidates pleading for votes from girls entering the college in the most bizarre way. In the RU Student Election video, a candidate can seen grabbing the feet of a girl in yellow kurti and pleading her to vote for him. On this the girl can be heard saying in an embarrassed way, "Please leave my feet. Ok yes, I will, but please leave my feet." Despite girls agreeing to vote her, the boy says to swear on him that she will vote for him by touching his head.

Notably, after the video went viral a user commented on it saying that viral video is not from Rajasthan University but from another district.

Coming back to RS Student Polls, nearly 15 universities and over 400 government colleges across the state, around 6 lakh students reportedly voted. Furthermore, in Rajasthan University in Jaipur, the state's premier institute, which remained in focus, 48 percent voting was recorded at the end of the polling period at 1 pm in the day. Around 20,000 students studying in the four constituent colleges – Maharaja College, Maharani College, Commerce College, and Rajasthan College – along with post-graduate students in the university, were eligible to vote.
