Patiala, February 3 - The second phase of COVID vaccination that was introduced on January 16 as a first phase, was started today at Mata Kaushalya Government District Hospital, Patiala, during which DC Kumar Amit, SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal, ADC (D) Dr. Preeti Yadav, ADC (or) Pooja Sial Grewal and Assistant Commissioner (or) Ismat Vijay Singh were among the first to be vaccinated.
Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit said that after the first phase of immunization of health workers, the second phase has been started today for the Defence, Water Supply and Sanitation, Local Government and Revenue Departments. He said that in order to dispel misconceptions among the people about immunization, he had first got himself vaccinated under the second phase. He appealed that without believing in any kind of misinformation, we should prevent the disease by getting vaccinated in turn. He said that when this vaccination portal would be opened to the public after covering the frontline workers, everyone would be informed about it.
SSP Patiala Vikram Jeet Duggal said that he was also the first to be vaccinated among the police force in the district to encourage district police personnel. He said that about 3500 police personnel and officers of the district would be vaccinated. He said that DGP Dinkar Gupta had given a good and inspiring message previous day to the police personnel by leading the second phase of the campaign for paramilitary forces.

After getting vaccinated, ADC (D) Dr. Mrs. Preeti Yadav said that COVID medicine is secure and safe as it has reached us after completion of proper trials. So we must come forward and be part of the vaccination campaign and be part of the fight against COVID.
ADC (G) Mrs. Pooja Sayal Grewal after getting jab of vaccination said that we should take maximum advantage of this campaign launched by the government to prevent COVID so that we can be a part of a healthy society.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Satinder Singh said that we have been continuously vaccinating all the front line workers of the first and second phase against COVID and the eligible personnel for vaccination should come forward and get themselves vaccinated. "We must be part of the world's largest vaccination campaign without any rumors or misconceptions," he further said.
On this occasion Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Praveen Puri, District Immunization Officer Dr. Veenu Goel, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Jatinder Kansal, Medical Superintendent Dr. Sandeep Kaur, District Epidemiologist Dr. Sumit Singh, SMO Dr. RP Pandav, Assistant Health Officer Dr. Sukhwinder Singh were also present.
