After the attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) workers in Jalalabad, Sukhbir Badal in a video released on Facebook gives information about the injured workers.
Badal said, "One of our workers is critical and two workers are referred to Faridkot medical college." He also alleges that it is "hooliganism."
"See the hooliganism done by them, do you teach hooliganism to your kid at a tender age (director to an MLA)?, " he added. Badal said, "They think it is their government in the state and now the police is with them,....they thought that they will chase away the workers by opening fires at them but see who ran away, they ran away..."
Badal said he had filled all the forms for upcoming local body elections.
The SAD leader also condemned the firing allegedly done by goons led by Congress legislator Raminder Awla's son on the occasion.
He said three Akali workers had suffered bullet injuries.
Besides SAD Spokeperson Daljit Singh Cheema said it was clear now that free and fair elections could not be held to the municipal bodies under these circumstances.
The State Election Commission has also utterly failed to rein in rogue Congress elements. The SAD demands immediate deployment of paramilitary forces in the state saying Punjab Police could not be trusted to do its duty. The Ferozepur SSP and all other police officials complicit in this crime should also be proceeded against immediately," Cheema added.
