Vigilance Bureau Punjab: Congress Leader, Sandeep Sandhu’s brother-law-detained in street light scam

The Vigilance Bureau has got another breakthrough in the case related to the street light scam. It is alleged by the sources that the brother-in-law of Congress leader Sandeep Sandhu has been detained by the bureau for questioning related to the scam. However, the Vigilance Bureau has not given any official confirmation on the same. Harpreet Singh who was an OSD to former CM Amarinder Singh has also not given any official statement.

According to the information that has been received, the two arrested in the scam that are BDPO, Block Committee President and BLO have also mentioned the name of Sandeep Sandhu to be involved in this case. Reportedly, the company to which the lights were to be gone has also come out to be fake. A probe has been initiated by the VB on this.

It was on September 27, when a case was registered by the Vigilance Bureau of embezzlement of 65 lakhs rupees in installing street lights in 26 villages. It was alleged that the payment for electricity was being done without the installation of the street lights. Later on, BDPO and the chairman were arrested and taken into remand for three days.

Now, these two along with BLO Teja Singh will be produced in front of the court on Saturday about the Street Light Scam.
