Social media that helps people in finding jobs- LinkedIn ironically announced mass layoff on May 8, 2023. Reportedly, LinkedIn will be cutting 716 jobs, or about 3.6% of total employees.

Among the biggest companies in the world, Amazon in April 2023, announced that it is shutting down its Halo Health division from July meaning 9,000 employees will be fired.

Meta or Facebook continued its trend of mass layoff of 2022 in 2023 when it announced in April this year that it cut 10,000 jobs in the coming months.

Among the rare sights, Apple too joined the mass layoff trend in 2023. In April 2023, Bloomberg reported that the company will be laying off a small number of roles on its corporate retail teams.

Streaming giant Netflix in March 2023 announced that it will be doing a “handful of layoffs,” which includes two longtime executives. Although exact numbers were not revealed.

Another streaming giant Disney in March 2023 in an internal memo revealed three rounds of layoffs. The job cuts will impact approximately 7,000 employee.

American video streaming service Twitch in March 2023, announced that it will be laying off 400 employees.

In March 2023, 10,000 people were fired and Microsoft laid off an entire team dedicated to guiding AI innovation. Again Microsoft laid off 559 workers from its Bellevue and Redmond operations.

In February 2023, Twitter laid off more than 200 employees, including Esther Crawford, Haraldur Thorleifsson and Leah Culve. Twitter has cut off 70 percent workfore after Elon Musk's takeover.
