How to Correct Wrong Bank Account Details in your Income Tax Return (ITR)

Login to the Income Tax e-Filing Portal: Visit the official Income Tax e-Filing portal (https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/) and log in using your user ID (PAN) and password.

Access the "My Account" Section:After logging in, go to the "My Account" tab on the dashboard.

Select "Rectification Request": Under the "My Account" section, click on "Rectification Request" from the drop-down menu.

Choose "Income Tax Returns (ITR)": In the rectification request page, select "Income Tax Returns (ITR)" as the request type.

Select Assessment Year and ITR Form: Choose the relevant Assessment Year and the ITR Form for which you need to correct the bank account details.

Select "Taxpayer is correcting Data": Under "Why are you applying for rectification?" choose "Taxpayer is correcting Data for Tax Credit mismatch only."

Edit Bank Account Details: Scroll down to the "Bank Account Details" section and enter the correct bank account number, IFSC code, and other relevant information.

Verify and Submit: Double-check all the corrections, and if everything is accurate, click on the "Submit" button.

Upload Digital Signature (if applicable): If you have a digital signature, you can upload the signed rectification request XML file. Otherwise, you can sign and submit the rectification request through Electronic Verification Code (EVC) or physically sending the signed ITR-V to CPC Bengaluru.
