Users can disable the feature through the ‘Expire Previous Password Now’ option in Face ID and Passcode settings.
The passcode reset feature only works within the first 72 hours after the change.
Tapping on ‘Try Passcode Reset’ allows users to enter the old passcode and create a new one.
Users will find a ‘Forgot Passcode’ option at the bottom of the screen when entering an incorrect code.
The option to reset is available if users forget the new passcode but remember the old one.
Users can reset their iPhone’s new passcode with the previous one within 72 hours.
In beta for developers, iOS 17 includes unannounced features, such as passcode reset.
