‘Toxic, corrupt & compromised’ Raghav Chadha explains AAP exit in first video after joining BJP

Outlines 3 choices he had: leave politics, stay & try to fix the party from within or join another platform to continue doing what he called 'positive politics'

In his first message to the public after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Raghav Chadha shared a video explaining the reasons behind his decision to leave the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) where he says that for the past few days he has been receiving many messages and while some people congratulated him others questioned why he made this move.

‘Gave 15 years to AAP’

Chadha explained that before entering politics he was a Chartered Accountant with a strong career ahead however he chose to leave that path and join politics not for personal gain but to work for the country and also said he was a founding member of AAP and gave around 15 years of his youth to the party.

‘Party has changed’

According to him the party has now changed and claimed that the work environment inside AAP has become “toxic” where leaders are stopped from working and even from speaking in Parliament and he further alleged that the party is now controlled by “corrupt and compromised people” who focus on personal benefit instead of public service.

‘Right person in the wrong party’

Chadha said he had been feeling for some time that he might be “The right person in the wrong party” and outlined three choices he had: leave politics completely, stay and try to fix the party from within or join another platform to continue doing what he called “positive politics.”

‘The right person leaves the wrong place’

He stated that he along with six other MPs decided to leave AAP and move on and added that while one or two people can be wrong it is unlikely that all seven MPs are wrong and using a simple example Chadha compared the situation to a workplace and said if a workplace becomes toxic and stops you from doing your job the right decision is to leave.

‘Continue to raise issues of common people’

He also addressed concerns of the public saying he will continue to raise issues of common people with even more energy and added that being part of a new platform will now help him not just raise problems but also work towards their solutions and this statement marks his first detailed response after the recent political shift involving multiple AAP MPs.
