In a major boost to connectivity, heli-taxi services have started from Shimla to Chandigarh and Chandigarh to Shimla. It means, people will now be able to go to Shimla and Chandigarh in 30 minutes by helicopter. Chandigarh to Shimla Helicopter Service has started under the Udaan scheme.
The first Heli taxi was flagged off by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on January 22 from Sanjauli Helipad in Shimla. The first helicopter landed t to Reckong Peo.
After receiving approval from the Central Government, daily helicopter flights to Chandigarh, Kullu and Reckong Peo have started from the Sanjauli Helipad in Shimla. In addition, helicopter services between Chandigarh and the Sanjauli Helipad will operate three days a week, on Monday, Friday and Saturday.
Helicopter services from Chandigarh to Shimla or vice versa can be booked from the official website of airheritage and Pawan Hans Limited.

For example, on January 26 i.e. on Monday, you can board helicopter from Chandigarh Airport at 9:15 am. You will land at Sanjauli Helipad at 9:45 am.
