The Indian Railways has announced the commencement of a new high-speed train, Vande Bharat, from August 16 - the day to be celebrated as Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The train will be a special gift for the people of Bihar on the special occasion of Janmashtami.
According to the reports, the train will be flagged off by MP cum Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan alias Lallan Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary from the Jamalpur Junction, Bihar.
Notably, the preparation to welcome the Union Minister and other guests to inaugurate the operation of Vande Bharat has commenced. According to Union Minister Lallan Singh, the people of Munger were asking for the rail service for a very long time, and the request was presented in front of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who ordered the start of the service between Bhagalpur and Jamalpur.
He furthermore briefed the construction work and mentioned that the work on the pit line has started and it is anticipated that it will be completed by November 2025. Following the installation, the operation of some more trains will start too. According to the route shared by the Union Minister, the train service will also benefit the people of Jamalpur and Munger, along with the residents of the nearby and surrounding areas.
According to the reports, the 450 km distance between Jamalpur and Howrah will be decreased to just 6.35 hours through this Vande Bharat Express. The train nos. allotted for the trains are 22309 and 22310.
Notably, the train will run for six days a week except Friday. The schedule informed that the 22309 train will start its journey at 7:45 am from Howrah and the return train (22310) will depart from Jamalpur at 3:30 pm, the next day.
The major stops of the train will be Bolpur Shanti Niketan, Rampurhat station, Dumka, Naunahat, Hansdiha, Mandarhill, Barahat, Bhagalpur, and Jamalpur.
