The launch of the new Vande Bharat Express has been announced by the Indian Railways. This new express train will connect Amritsar with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. According to the recent updates, the train will operate under numbers 26406/26405 and will be offering comfort, modern rain connectivity along with high speed.
It is to be noted that the new train service will be connecting two religious as well as tourist destinations.
The inaugural train will be 02406, which will start its journey from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 10:50 am on August 10, 2025 and is expected to reach Amritsar Junction at 5:00 pm, on the same day.
It is expected to reach Jammu Tawi Railway station at 12:15 pm and will depart from there at 12:20 pm.
The following stop will be at Pathankot Cantt Railway station, where the train will arrive at 1:50 pm and will depart at 1:55 pm
The train will reach at Jalandhar City Railway Station on 3:25 pm and will depart at 3:30 pm
The next station will be Beas Railway Station. Accordingly, the arrival will be at 4:00 pm and will depart at 4:05 pm
The last stop will be Amritsar Junction.
The inaugural train will be operated by Jammu Division and will be a 8-coach Vande Bharat rake.
The reports have outlined that the regular service will commence from August 11, 2025. The trains will run in both directions for six days a week as the service will be unavailable for every Tuesday.
Departure from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 6:40 am and expectedly it will arrive at Amritsar Junction at 12:20 pm. Total journey time will be around 5 hours 40 minutes and the train is scheduled to stop at Jammu Tawi at 7:38 am, Pathankot Cantt at 9:30 am, Jalandhar City at 11:03 am and Beas at 11:32 am.
Train no. 26405 - ASR to SVDK
This train will be a return train and the journey is scheduled to commence at 4:25 pm, reaching Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 10 pm. The travelling time will be 5 hours and 35 minutes.
