Just a day after the horrific Uttarkashi cloudburst, a landslide took place near Mansa Devi Temple area. The debris fell on the railway track in Haridwar due to landslide. As a result, Uttarakhand Railway Services, especially Haridwar-Dehradun rail service have been disrupted.
Notably, landslide video near Mansa Devi Temple has also surfaced on social media and it went viral in no time. A big stone (boulder) fell from the mountain near Bheemgoda tunnel.
The railway line has been damaged and the electric line also broke down. At present, restoration work is going on at the spot. The engineering team has reached the spot and DRM reached shortly.
It will take about 4 to 6 hours to remove the debris from the track, only after that the rail service will be able to start.
As per reports, there has been no loss of life in this incident so far. After the accident, railway teams also reached the spot. Now machines will be called and the work of cutting the net first and then removing the debris will be started.
In such a situation, trains going to Dehradun, Rishikesh will be stopped at Haridwar railway station itself, on the other hand, the incoming trains are being stopped at Motichur station.
Seven trains were short terminated due to debris on the track while the operation of six trains was affected. In such a situation, passengers had to face trouble due to the disruption in the operation of these trains passing through Haridwar, Dehradun, Rishikesh and surrounding areas.
