₹250 crore business sealed as India Sports Goods Expo 2024 wraps up at NIT Jalandhar

Delegates of sports firms came in huge numbers to the three-day expo, which led to a 30% boost in the industry's business.

The India Sports Goods Expo 2024, held by the association at Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), ended on Saturday. B2B (buyer-to-buyer) trading was done on the final day of the expo. Delegates of different sports firms participated in the three-day-long expo. The firms placed orders with the buyers who had come in bulk. The purchases were made on the spot. During the expo, the sports sector placed orders worth approximately Rs 250 crore. This will boost the business of Punjab's sports sector by 30 percent.

Sports and TIE Exporter Association Chairman Sumit Sharma, President Nitin Kohli, former Chairman Sanjay Kohli, and Secretary Nitin Mahajan stated that a business of Rs 250 crore was conducted during the three-day expo. There will be a 30 percent rise in the business of the sports industry. Buyers will approach the industry on a personal level. They stated that there are 1,350 small and large industries in Punjab. Where more than Rs 2,100 crore of business is conducted annually. Besides this, jobs have also been rendered to two and a half lakh individuals.

Purchasers went to each stall to order. Alpha Hockey Industry MD Jatin Mahajan and Nitin Mahajan approached the stall of Cougar Sports Company. MD of Company Kunal Dau Mahajan and Ashish Mahajan provided details regarding the launch of the products. Jatin Mahajan and Nitin Mahajan mentioned that good products were witnessed during the expo. Three businesses are likely to enhance and provide a boost to the sports industry. At this, the association directory was also released. Along with sportswear, the sports goods buyers also placed orders at the Expo. Numerous buyers personally intend to enter the industry in the next few days. Eco-friendly stickers are being made in Jalandhar.

Earlier, makers of bicycles, bats, and hockey used to import stickers from overseas.

Now, green stickers are also being made in Jalandhar. The brand recognition of the Company is on each sports item in the form of its sticker. Creative Edge of Jalandhar is making the stickers. These are being dispatched not just to the nation but also to the UK, the USA, Australia, and South Africa. The stickers are registered according to the European Standards. The sticker is being produced from polycarbonates in such a manner that it doesn't damage the environment. Managing Directors of Company Pankaj Sharma and Pradeep Sharma stated that stickers are being exported worldwide.
