Alexei Navalny supporters: Russian police detains protesters amid nationwide protests

In the cities of Khabarovsk and Vladivostok, police have already detained supporters of Alexei Navalny.

Supporters of Alexei Navalny, the critic and opponent ofRussian President Vladimir Putin started to carry out protest in Russia despitewarnings by police against the protests.

As per a report published in DW, 90 protests are expectedto be carried out across Russia today, January 23, 2021.

In the cities of Khabarovsk and Vladivostok, policehave already detained supporters of Alexei Navalny.

As per media reports, the protestors were seen chanting"shame" and "bandits." They are demanding release of AlexeiNavalny.

The media watchdog Roskomnadzor in Russia threaten tofine media platforms if they don't remove the content that purportedlyencourage minors to be the part of protests.

TikTokand YouTube are major platforms where protesters aresharing content. As per media reports, TikTok has deleted around 30% of thecontent flagged by Russian administration related to the protests while YouTubehas deleted 50% of the content flagged by them.
