TheDelhi Police and Bharatiya Kisan Union Spokesperson Rakesh Tikait haverubbished news spread from the Twitter account of the farmer organisation KisanEkta Morcha about the arrest of Tikait. Tikait is reported to be present at theGhazipur border of the national capital.
Withnearly seven months having passed since the farmers' agitation began againstthe Union farm laws implemented by the Central government, farmers have nowhanded over memorandums for the repeal of the farm laws to the governors ofvarious states for forwarding to the President.
Alarge number of farmers are present at the Ghazipur border and are seen drivingtractors. Rakesh Tikait has been sitting at the border since Saturday morninginteracting with the media and meeting the farmers gathering there.
Ateam of farmers has already arrived in Delhi to meet the Lieutenant Governor(L-G). Meanwhile, Kisan Ekta Morcha spread alleged rumours about the arrest ofTikait from their Twitter account. As the people present at the border came toknow about this news they could not believe how Tikait was then present at theborder.
However,this Twitter page of Kisan Ekta Morcha has not been a verified one without bluetick. After this alleged news of his arrest, Tikait tweeted, "The news ofmy arrest is misleading, I am currently present at the Ghazipur border whereeverything is normal."

TheDelhi Police also denied the rumours of Tikait's alleged arrest, saying,"This news is completely false and action will be taken against thosespreading such rumours."
Thefarmers have organised a programme to submit a memorandum demanding repeal ofUnion farm laws to the governors of all states on the completion of sevenmonths of the farmers' agitation along with the 46th anniversary of theEmergency imposed by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975.
