Kotkapura Firing Case: Sidhu reacts to Sukhbir’s allegations, says New SIT inching towards 'justice'

Navjot Sidhu has earlier repeatedly condemned his own government and even Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for alleged delay in justice in the sacrilege cases.

Hitting out at Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Chief Sukhbir Badal over his allegations that new SIT formed after old one to probe Kotkapura Firing Case was indicted over political interference, Former Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu said that “when new SIT is inching closer to Justice for Punjab’s Soul & you (Sukhbir Badal) cry of political interference”.

Sukhbir Badal in his recent tweet said, “While farmers suffer, CM is busy keeping Gandhi family happy & has accepted @RahulGandhi’s directive to implicate SAD leadership in false cases. New SIT formed after the old one was indicted over political interference, is being run by state vigilance dept, and so nothing has changed”.

Reacting to Sukhbir’s allegation, Navjot Sidhu said, “Six Yrs since the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.. No Justice in 2 yrs of your rule.. No Justice in the following 4.5 yrs.. Today, New SIT inches closer to Justice for Punjab’s Soul & you cry of political interferance.. Political interference was that which delayed Justice by 6 yrs”.

Meanwhile, Navjot Sidhu has earlier repeatedly condemned his own government and even Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for alleged delay in justice in the Faridkot sacrilege and police firing cases.

Now with this statement that ‘New SIT is inching towards justice, it seems like Senior Congress leader Navjot Sidhu perhaps for the first time has acknowledged that his government is moving in the right direction and justice will be delivered soon.

Besides, the AICC panel formed to resolve the internal feud in the party has discussed the political situation in the state with party high command and Punjab Leaders. Also issues related to Navjot Singh Sidhu and a possible way out to resolve the issue, has been discussed.

The Party Chief Sonia Gandhi is likely to take a final decision on the much intensified commotion by July 8-10.
