Farmers will march barefoot towards Parliament on Feb 1: Darshan Pal, Krantikari Kisan Union

On February 1, the union budget will be presented in the parliament.

Darshan Pal, leader of the Revolutionary Farmers Union, who is one of the farmers’ organizations protesting on the Delhi border against the Centre’s three farm laws on Monday said that on February 1, all the protesting farmers would march towards the Parliament House in Delhi barefoot. 

“On Feb 1,  we will march on foot, towards Parliament in Delhi from different locations,” said, Darshan Pal, Krantikari Kisan Union leader. 

On February 1 Union Budget will be presented by the finance minister in the parliament. 

Earlier, on Monday agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that farmers could have chosen any other day for their tractor rally, tractor parade on R-Day is the biggest security challenge for the police administration so that it is done peacefully without any incident. 

On being questioned about when the farmers movement will end, the Union Minister said that the protest will end soon. 

“Everyone in the democratic setup has the right to express their displeasure. The government has tried to listen to the protesting farmers’ issues and solve them through dialogue. We hope this issue will be resolved soon,” he said.

Govt waiting for farmers response on the suspension of laws.

The Agriculture Minister said that the government's proposal to suspend the new agricultural laws for one to one and a half years is a "best offer" they could have given to the farmers. He is hoping that the protesting farmers' organizations will reconsider it and convey their decision in favour of it. 

The 11th round of talks between the government and representatives of 41 farmer organizations has remained inconclusive. The farmers have been asked to reconsider the Centre’s proposal to halt the three farm laws. 

Tomar said, "The government has given the best offer to the farmer unions. I hope they will discuss among themselves and make us aware of their decision.”
