The decision of the government may become a new issue inthe election year, the government will find it difficult to answer thequestions
The Punjab government seems to have acquired a newproblem. In the election year, the MLA has created a political issue by givinggovernment jobs to sons. Government opponents have given air on this issue. Theyouth who are in search of employment can also start pointing fingers at thisdecision of the government. Its far-reaching effect can be seen in the state.
The government, however, can protect itself from datarigging. jobs provided to the youth, out of the total 15.08 lakh jobs provided,58,709 have been given government jobs (including contractual) and 5.70 lakhplaced in the private sector and 8.80 lakh have been facilitated to take upself-employment ventures.
Referring to employment generated under the MGNREGAscheme from April 1, 2017, to June 30 this year, 28.70 lakh households havebeen provided employment with 794.54 lakh man-days. Govt will be adding.
But these figures of the government hardly embraced theunemployed youth. Unemployed youth will argue a lot on this. Anti-governmentwill try to capitalize on these arguments completely. Due to which thepolitical environment of the state will change tremendously. Already theatmosphere in the state is not good for the government. Because some MLAs andministers are unhappy with the working style of the CM.
The Congress had announced door-to-door employment duringthe 2017 assembly elections. After coming to power, the party started theexercise of eradicating unemployment by organizing employment camps. Thegovernment is still trying to provide employment. But such efforts of thegovernment are not having any effect on the unemployed.
The economy of the country has been badly affected duringthe Corona period. Thousands have lost their jobs. No one can deny this. Butthe way the announcement has been made to give government jobs to theresourceful MLA sons. Many questions will arise from that. The question willalso arise that how many government jobs did the needy unemployed get?
A senior Congress leader, on the condition of anonymity, admitted that the government should have avoided taking such a risk in anelection year. While talking to True Scoop, this leader said that if thegovernment had taken this risk while giving job to the brother of Lok Sabha MPRavneet Singh Bittu, then there would not have been such a ruckus. As in anelection year.
When asked whether this decision of the government can beseen by linking it with anti-incumbency? So the leader first tried to avoid thequestion. But after scraping more of the true scoop, admitted that thisdecision of the government will strengthen the anti-incumbency against thepower in the state. Now how does the government get rid of this factor ofanti-incumbency. It will be interesting to see this.
