Heights of Inhumanity! Child gets burn injuries after cop kicks at pressure cooker in Lucknow

The incident took place on Saturday (near a railway toilet, where ragpickers reside in makeshift shanties) during an anti-encroachment drive at Charbagh railway station

Ina shocking incident, a small child suffered burn injuries when a railwayprotection force (RPF) sub-inspector allegedly kicked at a pressure cooker froma burning stove and the boiling liquid spilled on the child, scalding his rightarm.

Theincident took place on Saturday (near a railway toilet, where ragpickers residein makeshift shanties) during an anti-encroachment drive at Charbagh railwaystation and a video clip of the incident went viral on social media.

Thetoddler's mother, Rekha said: "Two cops, including a sub-inspectorsuddenly barged into our hut and began tossing our household stuff. My sonsuffered burns after a cop suddenly kicked at a pressure cooker in which pulseswas being cooked."

However,Mukesh Kumar, SHO, RPF, Charbagh said: "An anti-encroachment drive wasconducted, but allegations of Sub inspector kicking at a pressure cooker whichcaused burn injuries to a toddler are baseless."

Theseragpickers are often summoned by railway authorities to pick bodies fromrailway tracks and are paid for the service.

Meanwhile,divisional railway manager of Lucknow division, Sanjay Tripathi has said thatthey have ordered an enquiry into the incident by a lady officer and those findresponsible will not be spared.
