The Indian hockey team has reinvented hockey after 41 yearsby winning the medal in the Olympic Games held in Tokyo and the PunjabGovernment and the hockey Punjab will work together to maintain theenvironment. To give hockey a further boost where infrastructure will beprovided at needed areas there will be deployment of coaches and kits andsports equipment distributed to players. This is what Hockey Olympian and StateSports Minister Pargat Singh said today at the annual general meeting ofJalandhar Hockey Punjab after being elected the president of Hockey Punjab forthe next four years.
Pargat Singh said that whatever they are today, they arebecause of the hockey game. He will be dedicated to the Taumer hockey game andbe there for the players at all times. After being unanimously elected as thepresident, thanking the entire office bearers, former Indian hockey teamcaptain Pargat Singh said that before this, while serving as the secretary, hegets the support of all and hopes that this cooperation will continue in thefuture.
In the unanimous election of Hockey Punjab, Nitin Kohli wasselected as General Secretary and Daljit Singh as Treasurer. Rights to make therest of the Hockey Punjab executive were given to the newly appointed Presidentof Hockey Punjab Pargat Singh and General Secretary Nitin Kohli.
The meeting was participated by the Heads and GeneralSecretaries of the Hockey Associations of different districts of Punjab. Onthis occasion, Kartar Singh, Joint Director of Punjab Sports Department joinedas Observer while Navdeep Singh Gill joined by Punjab Olympic Association.
Onthis occasion, Senior Vice President of Hockey Punjab, Olympian Harpreet SinghMander shined light on the achievements of hockey Punjab and encouraged alldistrict units to boost hockey further.
