Varun Roojam, 2004-batch IAS officer, who has been servingas Managing Director, Marketing Federation (MARKFED), is now also given thecharge of Special Principal Secretary to Deputy CM Sukhjinder Randhawa.
Roojam is given this appointment as Special PrincipalSecretary in addition to his present assignment as MD MARKFED.
He had earlier also rendered his services as DirectorInformation and Public Relation, Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, DeputyCommissioner in District Mukatsar, SAS Nagar Mohali, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar,Amritsar and Patiala.
He completed his Bachelor of Engineering from PunjabEngineering College, Chandigarh. He belonged to an educated family of theregion.
His father L.R. Roojam was a distinguished legal luminary who retiredfrom the post of District and Sessions Judge in the year 2004. After retirementMr. L.R. Roojam had also served in the Punjab State Human Rights Commission asa member from the year 2009 to 2014.
