India deeply concerned about military coup in Myanmar

The tensions between the democratically elected government and military break into a coup attempt by military earlier on Monday.

Hours after detaining the Prime Minister Aung San SuuKyi, president and other leaders, the military has announced a one yearemergency in Myanmar, also known as Burma.

Indian foreign ministry has raised concerned about thecoup in Myanmar. The foreign ministry released a statement. It said, “We havenoted the developments in Myanmar with deep concern.”

“We believe that the rule of law and the democraticprocess must be upheld. We are monitoring the situation closely,” the statementfurther added according to a report published in Reuters news agency.

Myanmar was earlier also ruled by military until 2011. In1991, Aung San Suu Kyi won a Nobel Peace Prize. However, her response towardsthe ongoing Rohingya crisis was censured by international community, humanrights groups and many people across the planet.
