In a major development in the Raj Kundra involved pornracket case, Bollywood actor, and Kundra’s wife Shilpa Shetty Kundra moved to Bombay High Court on Thursday.
Notably, the actress has filed a defamation suit against mediapersonnel and media houses for publishing malign content on their respectiveplatforms in the porn racket case.
As per the information of ANI, Shilpa Shetty has accusedthe media personnel and media houses of “doing false reporting and maligningher image.”
Notably, her case has been scheduled for hearing on July30.
According to a report, Shilpa Shetty’s plea read that thedefendants are tarnishing her reputation and sensationalizing the news toescalate their viewership and readership.
"The Defamatory Articles and Defamatory Videos havelowered the Applicant’s reputation in the eyes of the general public includingher fans, followers, brand endorsement companies, business associates and peerswho have now started believing in the reports being published by theDefendants," the plea read.
Her plea further alleged that these media houses areinvolved in carrying out their own investigations in the case, hence, mockingat the judicial system.
The plea stated, "A bare perusal of the DefamatoryArticles and Defamatory Videos amply clarify that the Defendants arepublishing/ uploading parallel private “investigations” and effectively actingas “courts” to condemn the Applicant and her husband as guilty based on whatthey claim is “evidence” found by them from their alleged sources, therebytrying to make a mockery of the judicial system."
It has also been learnt from the sources, Shetty hassought an apology from the media houses along with the removal of defamatorycontent. She has also asked for Rs 25 crore as compensation.
