President Ram NathKovind addressed the nation on the eve of 75th Independence Day. The addresswas broadcasted from 7pm on the entire national network of All India Radio(AIR) and telecasted over all Doordarshan in Hindi, followed by the Englishversion.
President Ram NathKovind warned against letting the guard down against the coronavirus diseaseand urged people to get vaccinated. Stating that India is yet to come out ofthe devastating effects of the pandemic, Kovind said, “Vaccines are thebest protection provided by science for all of us at the moment. I urge all thecountrymen to get vaccinated as per protocol as soon as possible.”
While addressing thenation, President Ram Nath Kovind said that 75th Independence Day has specialsignificance because the country will be celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav ofIndependence from this year onwards.
Apart from this, thePresident said the government has started the process of consultation with allstakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir who believe in democracy and the rule of law,adding that a "new awakening is visible."
President Ram NathKovind congratulated athletes for their stupendous performance in TokyoOlympics.
“This team has baggedthe highest number of medals for the country in Olympics history. The entirenation is proud of your achievements,” he said.
“We're especiallyproud of our daughters who displayed world-class performance despite facingmany challenges. You gave us a reason to celebrate amid Covid. Sometimes youwin and sometimes you lose when you participate in a game but every time youlearn a new thing,” he added.

President noted thatIndia is proud of not only adhering to the Paris climate agreement but doingmore than what the country has committed to protect the climate.
