In a major development, the newly appointed PunjabPradesh Congress Chief Navjot Sidhu has sent an invite to Capt Amarinder Singhto become a part of an event on Friday amid the escalating tension.
In this event, the cricketer turned politician willformally assume charge as President of Punjab Congress at 11 am on Friday atChandigarh office.
As per the information acquired from the sources, 65 MLAssigned the invite to accommodate Punjab CM in the state unit’s gathering onFriday.
According to the sources, the newly elected four workingpresidents along with Sidhu have also sent an invitation to Punjab CM to jointhe event.
Additionally, an invite has also been sent to Congressgeneral secretary and in charge Punjab Congress Affairs, Harish Rawat, who hadmost likely convinced Capt Amarinder Singh to abide by the truce formula to endtension in the state unit.
Notably, Sidhu’s invite has come a day after MediaAdviser to Punjab CM, Raveen Thukral, refuted reports of Capt Amarinder’smeeting with Sidhu until the latter issues a public apology for his derogatoryattacks against CM on social media.
However, now it will remain evident to see if Punjab CMwill accept Sidhu’s invitation to join him on his special day or the longstandingfeud between the two leaders will further widen.
