Punjab has been witnessing a rise in temperature over the past many days, with temperatures continuously breaking the 40°C mark. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit on Monday issued a fresh prediction stating that multiple districts will witness two days of rainfall starting from today i.e. May 19, 2025. Notably, IMD has put the aforementioned districts on yellow alert. Not only a normal rainfall, the aforementioned Punjab districts will witness thunderstorms along with strong gusty winds on these dates. On May 18, IMD Chandigarh had predicted four days of rainfall, but now the weather department has fired a fresh prediction.
As per IMD Chandigarh, Bathinda was the hottest on Sunday i.e., on May 18, 2025. Bathinda recorded 45.3°C, Amritsar was 42.1°C, Ludhiana was 42.2°C, Patiala was 40°C, Pathankot was 39.5°C, Faridkot- 43.5°C, Gurdaspur was 42°C, etc.
