On Tuesday, the Mumbai police crime branch will present businessman Raj Kundra for police custody before a local court. Kundra was arrested by Mumbai police on Monday in connection with the alleged creation of pornographic videos and their distribution through several applications.
Some of the people arrested were the owners of streaming services where these pornographic films could be seen for a subscription fee. Kundra's name came up in connection with his ties to one of the organisations involved in promoting such films on digital platforms, according to an officer.
Apart from the Mumbai police investigation, Kundra's name had also been mentioned in a similar complaint filed by the Maharashtra Cyber police last year. Kundra had applied for anticipatory bail in that case, and the court is expected to rule on his petition next week.
