Raj Kundra Pornography Case: Shilpa Shetty’s husband to be produced at court today

The Property Cell of the Mumbai crime branch had in February this year registered an FIR in connection with the case and arrested nine persons soon after. Raj Kundra‘s name came up during the interrogation of the accused, police officials said.

On Tuesday, the Mumbai police crime branch will present businessman Raj Kundra for police custody before a local court. Kundra was arrested by Mumbai police on Monday in connection with the alleged creation of pornographic videos and their distribution through several applications.

Shilpa Shetty, an actress and businesswoman, is married to Kundra.

Kundra will be taken into jail by the Metropolitan Magistrate Court. His interrogation, according to sources, could lead to more arrests.

In February of this year, the Mumbai criminal branch's Property Cell filed a FIR in connection with the case, and nine people were arrested shortly after. According to police officials, Kundra's name came up during the accused's interrogation.

Some of the people arrested were the owners of streaming services where these pornographic films could be seen for a subscription fee. Kundra's name came up in connection with his ties to one of the organisations involved in promoting such films on digital platforms, according to an officer.

Apart from the Mumbai police investigation, Kundra's name had also been mentioned in a similar complaint filed by the Maharashtra Cyber police last year. Kundra had applied for anticipatory bail in that case, and the court is expected to rule on his petition next week.
