Renowned businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch in a case linked to pornography on late Monday night.
It is being said by the Mumbai Police that Raj Kundra is among key conspirators to shoot pornographic videos to later publish them on some social media applications.
“We have sufficient evidence regarding this. The investigation is underway” said Mumbai Police Commissioner.
The Crime Branch Mumbai, earlier in February 2021 had lodged a case against Rak Kundra over the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps.
However, denying the charges, Mr. Kundra has sought anticipatory bail in the case.
Notably, the case came into the limelight when a model named
Sagarika Shona Suman held a press conference earlier this year alleging that
Umesh Kamat, who was arrested in the porn film racket, is an assistant to Raj
Kundra. Sagarika demanded Kundra's arrest, claiming that he was also involved
in the entire racket.
Sagarika claimed that during the lockdown, a web series was offered to her by Raj Kundra's company and she was asked for a nude audition in her name.
In the press conference, Sagarika said, "This
happened in August during the lockdown. I got a call from Umesh Kamat. They
told me that they are making a huge web series, which is owned by Raj Kundra.
He said that together with us you will get a very big hike. He told that the
web series is based on love stories. I accepted the offer. He then said that he
would take the audition on a video call. When the turn came for the audition,
he demanded a nude audition from me. "
