Renowned businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested byMumbai Crime Branch in a case linked to pornography on late Monday night.
It is being said by the Mumbai Police that Raj Kundra is among key conspirators to shoot pornographic videos to later publish them onsome social media applications.
“We have sufficient evidence regarding this. The investigation is underway” said Mumbai Police Commissioner.
The Crime Branch Mumbai, earlier in February 2021 hadlodged a case against Rak Kundra over the creation of pornographic films and publishingthem through some apps.
However, denying the charges, Mr. Kundra has soughtanticipatory bail in the case.
Notably, the case came into the limelight when a model namedSagarika Shona Suman held a press conference earlier this year alleging thatUmesh Kamat, who was arrested in the porn film racket, is an assistant to RajKundra. Sagarika demanded Kundra's arrest, claiming that he was also involvedin the entire racket.
Sagarika claimed that during the lockdown, a web serieswas offered to her by Raj Kundra's company and she was asked for a nude auditionin her name.
In the press conference, Sagarika said, "Thishappened in August during the lockdown. I got a call from Umesh Kamat. Theytold me that they are making a huge web series, which is owned by Raj Kundra.He said that together with us you will get a very big hike. He told that theweb series is based on love stories. I accepted the offer. He then said that hewould take the audition on a video call. When the turn came for the audition,he demanded a nude audition from me. "
