Information and Public Relations Department, Chandigarh, Punjab,January 6: Punjab school education minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, onWednesday, said that following the persistent demand of parents, the stategovernment has decided to reopen all government, semi-government and privateschools from January 7 onwards. Mr. Singla said that the timings of the schoolswill be from 10 am to 3 pm and students only from class V to XII will beallowed to attend physical classes in the schools.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that while giving his nod, ChiefMinister Captain Amarinder Singh directed them to ensure the safety of thechildren amid Covid-19 pandemic. He added that following the directions of theCM, all school managements have been asked to strictly comply with thedirections of the government specially advisory issued by the health departmentto avert the threat of contraction of coronavirus.
The cabinet minister informed that the education departmenthad taken feedback from the school heads and besides ensuring safety of thechildren, they have also suggested the department to reopen the schools beforethe annual exams for final revision of the students.
"CM Capt. Amarinder Singh has launched "MissionShat Pratishat '' while presiding over a mega event of Smart Phone distributionto the students of class XII on November 07, last year. After announcement, thewhole education department, specially the school teachers, have been geared upto turn the vision of the CM into reality by putting in dedicated efforts atthe cutting edge level," the Education Minister further added whilelauding the teachers for acting as real Corona warriors to provide qualityeducation facilities to the students.
