In a statement, IOSIS Wellness Chairperson Kiran Bawa clarified that Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty and her mother Sunanda Shetty 'had no relation' to her fitness chain. She issued a statement on her Instagram account after news of Shilpa and her mother boooked in a fraud case in Lucknow went viral.

A team of Lucknow Police was scheduled to arrive in Mumbai to interview Shilpa and her mother Sunanda in connection with a suspected fraud case involving a wellness centre.

Kiran further added in her statement, ”Ms. Shilpa Shetty and her mother Ms. Sunanda Shetty have no connection with IOSIS. We have parted ways amicable long ago. Hence, a please stop spreading rumours and aspersions. Iam a single parent and a hardworking professional. IOSIS is my baby and a brand I have built over the years. I am more than happy to verify facts with the concerned authorities. Till then I humbly request you to remove these posts as the matter is sub Judice in the Hon'ble High Court of Bombay where we have orders in our favour”.

IANS reported earlier in the day that two FIRs had been filed in Lucknow's Hazratganj and Vibhuti Khand police stations, and that the police had now escalated their investigations in both cases.

Meanwhile in Raj Kundra case, The Mumbai Police opposed the bail plea of Raj Kundra and co-accused Ryan Thorpe in the adult films case before the sessions court on August 10 alleging that it would send the wrong message to society.

Police stated that if they are released they could commit similar crimes again, abscond or impact 'social culture’.

Kundra, in his bail plea, claims that while there is no evidence of his involvement in the case, the evidence that the police claim to have seized includes no obscenity. According to the Mumbai Police, videos obtained during the investigation reveal that pornographic content published on the Hotshots app was related to Kundra's firm.

Kundra stated that the defendants who had been arrested earlier in the case and against whom a charge sheet had been filed were given bail.

However, the police have objected to Kundra's bail request, claiming that he is a prominent person and a British citizen who may flee the country if released.
