Former Union Ministerand Congress MP Manish Tewari on Thursday lashed out at Navjot Singh Sidhu for allegedlyclaiming internal conflict in the state unit.
With the intervention ofTewari in the matter it seems like the Punjab Congress crisis might not come to anend by July 10.
While speaking to aneminent media agency, Tewari, on July 8, sought Congress High Command’s actionon certain leaders who were running their own agendas on Twitter.
He further took a dig atNavjot Sidhu for allegedly claiming disparity in the party and said, “Congress wasunited and will contest polls unitedly in Punjab.”
“There is no problem inthe state, there are some issues due to the step-motherly treatment of theCentral government. However, if someone wants to take on his personal agendathrough Twitter or any other medium then the leaders at the AICC should take itseriously,’ he added.
Navjot Sidhu for overmonths now has been consistently targeting Punjab CM over several issues andthe recent power crisis in the state added fuel to fire.
Backing Capt Amarinder’sgovernance, Tewari said that since the formation of Punjab state until 2017, noparty has been able to gather 77 assembly seats out of 117.

Notably, the latestreaction from Manish Tewari has come days after Punjab CM had met Congressinterim chief Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to agree to the truce formula to accommodateSidhu in the state unit.
Post-meeting theCongress chief, Capt Amarinder said, “Whatever decision Sonia takes, will abideby it.”
However, he refrained tocomment on Navjot Sidhu’s induction in the Punjab Congress.
According to thesources, Capt Amarinder was successful at convincing Sonia Gandhi for electinga ‘Hindu’ face as the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPC) chief, to replaceSunil Jakhar. Notably, Manish Tewari is among the forerunners to take on thisposition.
This is the purposeful intentionof Capt Amarinder as it will aid the party to balance the vote bank for theupcoming Assembly elections 2022.
Earlier, Capt Amarinderhas refused to work as a CM with Sidhu if he becomes state unit’s president andhas offered to induct him either into the Cabinet or as an Election Campaign CommitteeChief, Election Manifesto Committee Chief.
As per the reports ofsources, the Punjab Congress crisis are likely to end by July 10 but at whatdesignation Sidhu will be accommodated remains latent.
