Students, this Diwali season, get trained for 45 days by a big name in ecommerce and get paid for it

Flipkart said it is working with educational institutes across 21 locations.

Ecommerce marketplace Flipkart brought back its paidinternship programme Launchpad for undergraduate students from tier-II citiesand beyond to work in its supply chain ahead of the festive season and the BigBillion Days sale.

Upon joining, students will be trained in various aspects ofsupply chain management while following strict practices that prioritize theirhealth and safety. This includes mandatory thermal screening before enteringthe facilities, maintaining social distancing while at work and use of theAarogya Setu app at all times, the company said.

The company said that the 45-day internship is aimed athelping students gain critical skills in supply chain management and create anecosystem of trained professionals for the e-commerce industry.

Over 2,000 students participated in the internship programmelast year.

Flipkart said it is working with educational institutesacross 21 locations including Binola (Haryana), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra),Uluberia and Dankuni (West Bengal) and Malur (Karnataka), Medchal (Telangana)and several more, to identify meritorious students and engage the selected onesat its fulfilment centres.

"We are confident of providing an engaging andimmersive working experience to our interns during the upcoming festive season,which will help generate more interest towards the supply chain," saidAmitesh Jha, Senior Vice-President, Flipkart.

The exposure, Flipkart said, will help students buildlong-term resiliency and agility in their operations while upskilling them inthis fast-changing external scenario.

The project is a win-win-win situation. The company hasrequirement of seasonal workforce, and they get that in addition to cashpayment. The fresher students require their first experience, which we all knowis difficult to get, and they get that. The customers of the ecommerce giantwill get smooth services with the help of the interns, and they also win.
