On Thursday, popular Gujarati film and theatre actor Arvind Rathod died at his residence in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. He was living with his niece-in-law Jagruti and her son Rhythm.
The actor had contracted with the novel coronavirus a couple of months back but had recovered from it. However, after contracting the virus he was bed-ridden.
Jagriti told a news organization, “Uncle was bed-ridden for some time now. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 a few months ago but had recovered. Due to age-related issues, he was bed-ridden after that.”
Rathod started his career in the year 1968, with the film London Express. He was popular for his roles as a villain in Gujarati films. His best-known films are Raja Gopichand (1979), Shetal Tara Oona Pani (1986), Dikrine Na Desho Koi Pardesh (2011) and many others.
He was also seen in many best-known Bollywood films such as Khuda Gawah, Agneepath (1990), Mera Jiwan, Toofan, Kora Kagaz, Johny Uska Naam and Lady Killer.
His recent movie was Tension Thai Gayu, released in the year 2018.
