Swedish Climate Rights Activist, Greta Thunberg had extendedsupport for the farmers protesting against the contentious farm lawsearlier in February and she later on posted a toolkit which she deleted andagain uploaded the updated version of it.
Since then, she has been trending in India onmicro-blogging sites. Greta has now tweeted about freedom of speech indemocratic countries by retweeting a tweet of 'Fridays for Future India.'
Thunberg in a tweet wrote, "Freedom of speech and the right to peaceful protest andassembly are non-negotiable human rights. These must be a fundamental part ofany democracy. #StandWithDishaRavi."In this tweet, she has extended her support to Disha Ravi, a climate rightsactivist who has been arrested in the case related to the toolkit in India.
The tweet fo Fridays for Future India read, "FridaysFor Future India is a part of the global movement for climate justice. Weconsist of a group of students who, with only a ray of hope, strive towardscreating a future which is worth living in."
Disha Ravi (22) was sent to three day judicial custody onFriday. She was arrested earlier this month. Disha faces charges of sharing atoolkit that is alleged to be a part of larger conspiracy. However, still thelarger conspiracy claims is unfounded and investigations are on.
Greta was trolled and her posters were burnt in someparts of India after she shared the toolkit for the support of farmers. Theexperts linked this mentality to 'Sati Pratha' practice.
