Former councilorSukhmeet Singh aka Sukhmeet Deputy was gunned down by a group of unidentifiedmen in broad daylight in Jalandhar on June 20.
Sukhmeet Deputy, who hadcome out on parole in an infamous Mikki abduction and ransom case, wassupposed to go back to jail to complete his punishment term.
But fate had other plansfor him.
According to deceasedbrother, Sukhmeet was sitting with his family and was sipping on tea when hereceived a call from an anonymous person asking him to join a birthday party.
Deputy left home in arush and informed the family he will back after the cake cutting ceremony. However,when Sukhmeet reached the Gopal Nagar area, four men hit his motorbike followed byshooting bullets at him.
When Sukhmeet was rushedto the hospital he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
Moreover, JalandharCommissionerate Police has launched a probe in the Sukhmeet Deputy Murder case andis working on different angles to nab the accused.
